Yoga for beginners
About:
Yoga is a journey of the self to the self through the self. My classes are aimed at beginners although I can adapt poses to suit
more advanced practitioners. The benefits of yoga are: Improved focus, strength, balance and flexibility. It can help to reduces stress
and anxiety, shift blocked energy or prana. It can bring about self awareness in the mind, body and spirit and above all it brings
people together in a supportive community.
I teach breathwork, chanting and guided meditations alongside the asana itself. I am incredibly passionate about yoga and how it
has the ability to transform our lives if we a willing. I am also interested in yoga philosophy and how ancient texts such as Patanjalis
yoga sutras are still so relevant in todays world.

energised, calm and stronger after each class. Such a joy. Thank you Catherine – Mary Eadie.

Additional information:
Hello, my name is Catherine Clark. I discovered yoga over 22 years ago while studying photography at Farnham Art School, and it
has been an integral part of my life ever since.
My previous career as a chef, running my own catering company, was demanding—fast-paced, stressful, and exhausting both
physically and mentally.
Reconnecting with my body and soul through yoga was truly transformative. It brought me freedom from anxiety and instilled a sense
of calm, purpose, and self-confidence. Yoga quickly became a fulfilling and enriching part of my life, offering a deeper connection to
myself and a more positive outlook on life.
After several years of dedicated practice, my teacher encouraged me to undertake a yoga foundation training with The British Wheel
of Yoga. That experience was both inspiring and life-changing, igniting my passion to explore the profound benefits of yoga. I
discovered how yoga provides a mindful and nurturing approach to the body, fostering balance, harmony, and inner peace. Inspired
to delve deeper, I earned my teaching qualification in 2023 and gained the Diploma in 2024.
I am deeply passionate about the art of yoga, particularly the practice of working with the breath. I value its ability to reduce stress
and anxiety, while also easing the aches and pains we all experience in daily life. Teaching and practicing yoga is more than a
profession for me, it is a fulfilling and joyful way to connect with others and share the incredible benefits it brings.
