Meditation Group Sit

An event every week that begins at 19:30 on Thursday, repeating until 19th December 2024
About:
This will be a gathering together of people in the community who meditate for their wellbeing and personal development. It will aim to include both beginner and experienced meditators. It will be non-sectarian although the practices are rooted in Buddhism. The aim is to create a supportive group of meditators who can gather regularly and benefit from each others’ practice.
Taught by:
Tom Veck – ‘I am a qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher running beginner, intermediate and 1-1 courses in Somerset UK both in and out of nature. I first discovered the impact that meditation could have on my mental and emotional wellbeing when I attended a 10 day silent Vipassana retreat whilst in India in 2003. I was amazed by the dramatic effect that paying mindful, non judgemental attention to my breath, body and mind could have. In the years that have followed I have kept up my meditation practice and attended 10 more of these retreats and several other meditation retreats. I am now a qualified mindfulness teacher and have been teaching mindfulness courses for the last 5 years.’
Suitable for:
Anyone over 16 with an interest in and some experience of meditation.

What to wear/bring:
Bring a cushion, blanket and something soft to put on the floor. If you’d rather sit on a chair we will provide a chair.

£10 payable on the day. Termly payment options will also be available, week 1 will be a free.
