A Small Farm Future – How We Feed the World and Nurture the Planet

September 2 @ 19:00 - 21:00

Chris Smaje, author of A Small Farm Future and co-founder of Vallis Veg in Frome will discuss the ways in which a small farm future can be realised in the UK and globally, and why it is a critical and urgent pathway to address climate disruption, land inequality, energy futures and ecological crisis.

Chris will be joined by Robyn Minogue, South West coordinator for The Gaia Foundation’s Seed Sovereignty Programme. Robyn will share ways in which small-scale seed production fits into this hopeful, regenerative farming picture. James Turner from communications organisation Glimpse will discuss ways in which we can use campaigns and stories to reach beyond the converted to challenge the mainstream myth that we need an industrial agriculture to feed the world. A lively discussion chaired by Peter Macfadyen, who will also draw on local experiences in small-scale food production and localism in politics.
