SUMMARY:Dancing through the layers – Emerging Hearts
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nDancing Through the Layers\nExploring how subtle communication travels through the layers of the body\nContact Improvisation Workshop with Richard Parker\nDancing Through the Layers is an experiential Contact Improvisation workshop exploring the subtle communication that emerges through the body’s different layers in contact. Through elements of bodywork, touch research, and pathway exploration, we’ll investigate how intention, directionality, and movement proposals can be transmitted and perceived through the fascial network and deeper listening of the body. From these subtle exchanges, we’ll open pathways into supported flying and shared movement choices, exploring how we can follow, resist, redirect, or amplify what arises within the dance.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLevel\nSuitable for all levels. The workshop offers accessible ways into deeper listening and communication for those newer to Contact Improvisation, while providing rich material for more experienced dancers wanting to develop and deepen their practice.\nTimings & Cost\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop: 2pm – 6pm\nCost: £45\nWe offer a limited number of reduced-price tickets for those on a lower income (more info).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue & Travel\nVenue: Our workshop will be taking place in The Old School Room within the venue RISE, a large, wooden floor, well-lit and fully heated space.\nCentrally located within the heart of Frome, RISE is a 5-minute walk from the town centre, or a 20-minute walk from the Frome train station.\nParking: There is a long-stay car park at the Cheese and Grain situated a short walk away.\n\n\n\n\n
