DESCRIPTION:About:\nA free event to support individuals and communities who want to do something about plastic waste. Find out how you can gather data about plastic waste where you live. Using free tools, you can log brands and products found in your local park, play area, river side or wherever you\nfind waste. Unwaste.io is a social enterprise helping people engage with their community to help everyone reduce plastic waste. Join us for a short walk afterwards to try out the Wastebase app. Bags, hi vis and litter pickers provided. Families welcome (under 16s must attend with an adult). This event is free but it is helpful if people book tickets so we have an ideas of numbers attending. Children are welcome to attend but there will be a bit of presentation and discussion so we ask parents to try to keep them as quiet as possible – we don’t mind a bit of\nrunning around.\nWhat to wear / bring:\nWe’ll go for a short walk around the town so bring clothing suitable for the weather. You may want to bring gloves to pick up waste.\nAdditional information:\nUnwaste.io is a global social enterprise, using data and mobile technology to help create a circular economy for plastic waste.\nToday’s event will be hosted by Laura Smith, one of the founders. Laura lives in Wiltshire with her family and has spent her career\nworking with business, charities, social entrepreneurs and the public sector to turn creative ideas into reality. Laura will be joined by\nUnwaste volunteers from the local area.\n
